Glenn Stemmons Coffield papers, 1943-1981.

Collection consists of two major groups. One General group with subgroups in alphabetical order, and one group headed under Writings, which is subdivided into a subgroup of Coffield's Writings and a subgroup of Other People's Writings. Each subgroup also has individual series. The Contest Materials subgroup contains materials on the contests that Coffield ran in his creativity newsletter. The Course Materials subgroup contains materials dealing with various courses Coffield provided by mail. The Periodicals subgroup contains materials that relate to periodicals by Coffield and other people. The Quantification of Quality subgroup contains materials that pertain to a theory/system which Coffield claimed to have discovered which would give an individual the ability to increase the quality of one's thinking process. The Research Materials subgroup contains "creative tools" called Brainstorming Sheets, Element Sheets, "Meaning systems," etc. The other group consists of Coffield's writing and other people's writings. The Coffield writings include essays, periodicals, plays, poems/poetry books, prose and miscellaneous work.

Camp Waldport, Civilian Public Service (CPS) Camp No. 56, was one of three conscientious objector camps in Oregon during World War II. It was established in 1942 and administered by The Civilian Public Service of the Mennonite Central Committee.
